On The Phone With Josh

This is a podcast with deep, generous Evangelical conversations. We are lifetime friends (both named Josh) who want to follow Jesus wholly and honestly. We have been pursuing Jesus together through weekly phone conversations for 20 years. This podcast puts more chairs around the circle as we use our friendship and theological training to delve into real-life, practical issues around faith, family, and spiritual formation. When the Bible refers to “the Word of God” is it referring simply to the Bible itself or not? If the Word of God can be understood to be more than the Bible, then what does that mean for our understanding of the Bible itself? And can we get “orthorelationality” to catch on as a new term? The word Christian is a little loaded in our society. What do we mean by the word? Does it really strike at the heart of what we want to convey? If not, is there a better word or term to use? How might that do a better job of describing what this whole thing is all about? We’d love to have you join us for this conversation and then chime in on social media to let us know what you think about the word Christian.

Josh and Josh(ua)

Let us begin by saying that we have very few pictures of us together since most of our friendship after college has been on opposite sides of the country. We couldn't be more proud that this is one of the few that we have.

So what do you do when you live on opposite coasts? You talk - a lot. For 20 years we've been talking life, history, theology, Christian living, marriage, and parenting. At the heart of it, we believe friendship is a vehicle for soul formation. So we take it all seriously even if we don't always take ourselves so seriously. Check out Episode 0 for a brief introduction to us and to our show.

Our podcast is an invitation for you to join the conversation. Every week we'll delve into a new topic and then open the floor for listeners to join the conversation on social media. www.facebook.com/onthephonewithjosh // www.instagram.com/onthephonewithjosh // www.twitter.com/joshes_t
